I recently visited Ruri and had the most amazing experience! Each sari is unique and hand-picked by Shilpi, who clearly has an exceptional eye for detail. The handlooms are timeless classics, and you can feel the quality as soon as you touch the fabric. What impressed me most was Shilpi’s knowledge of the saris, the intricate work, and the entire weaving process. She took the time to explain everything, which made the visit even more special. Every sari is an exquisite piece of art, perfect for any occasion, and I’m confident these beauties can be passed down through generations. This lovely handloom saree from RURI ethnic is something I am proud to own. I'm excited to drape this gift that I received during my most recent trip to India. The fabric is breathable and has a lovely pastel color. They have an extensive collection and are based in Pune, Aundh. I have a deep inclination for handloom, cotton and jute but getting authentic fabric esp handloom which is hand woven by skilled artisans is challenging these days. Hence I stopped even looking for these for several years now. I happened to meet Shilpi (founder - RURI ethnic) and she shared few insights relating to this. It definitely created the urge to visit her store at Aundh. I was totally mesmerized by the positivity and the vibes generated upon entering the store. Beautiful set up, amazing collection and immensely skilled Shilpi! Her knowledge about the fabric, guidance on what will suit your body type, checks on authenticity of the fabric, pulled me towards the sarees displayed. I would wonder if I can buy them all in one go and wish I was blessed with the "Ambani" tag to do so :) Alas! This store and Shilpi converted the tire kicking approach in me to fall in for the Jute & cotton collections at RURI once again. Soft fabric, sarees hand woven by genuine artisans (validated by Shilpi from the remote places across Kolkatta vouched for such art / skilled labourers) and warm shades which go well with office style as well as cultural occasions. What else you need? To top it all, the cost is purely in line with the fabric.. in fact it definitely saves my money and energy if I had to travel to Kolkatta to hunt for something authentic like this. Moreover Shilpi's guidance is not charged too :) Must try if you are the one like me hunting genuine collection which suits your body type and can be a multi purpose fit from corporates to personal occasions!
